(September 9, 2025) – Welcome to the 23rd edition of Music Jeopardy!  As always, the blog provides the clues… and you provide the responses.  And every clue now comes with a point value — no dollars!  The player(s) with the most points get bragging rights.

This round’s category — “It Happened in Cashbox (not Billboard)” — is about major achievements that occurred on Cashbox Magazine’s pop chart but famously did not happen on Billboard’s Hot 100.  We’ll provide the clues about Billboard’s now-defunct rival trade publication; you supply the correct responses.

Think you know your Cashbox-vs-Billboard history?  Maybe you’ll learn a few new things along the way.  Only one way to find out: read on!

Post your guesses in the “Your Thoughts” box below, DM me on social media, or email me.  I will unlock your responses after the competition has closed. Please don’t be that person who posts your responses publicly on social media and spoils it for everyone.

All correct entries will be recognized in the next Music Jeopardy! post. The prize, as always: eternal bragging rights.

Below are this week’s five clues plus two bonuses.  Answers to last week’s MJ22 are at the end.

Clue 1: 100 pts

Clue 3: 300 pts

Clue 4: 400 pts

Clue 5: 500 pts

That’s it.  Remember to provide your responses in the “Your Thoughts” box at the bottom of the article (I will moderate your answers and they may not appear until others have had a chance to play) or DM me on any of the social media platforms where this is posted.
