(March 31, 2026) – Welcome to Music Jeopardy 46! It’s the weekly music challenge where the blog provides the clues… and you provide the responses. Each clue has point values — no dollars! The player(s) with the most points gets bragging rights.
Last week, our “March Madness!” theme had eight respondents — with only one achieving a perfect score (congrats, Matt Charboneau)! Admittedly, the bonus clue about Fleetwood Mac was a bit tricky, which I explain below. How will this week’s players fare in a contest that should be more straightforward?
This round’s category — “Rock-n-Roll Girls” — is a final nod to this year’s Women’s History Month. We provide clues about girls who are named in one-word song titles, you guess the correct responses.
Think you know your one-word girl songs? There’s only one way to find out: read on!
You can post your responses in the “Your Thoughts” box below (they’ll be withheld from view until the contest closes), DM me on social media, or email me. Please don’t be that person who posts answers publicly on social media and spoils it for everyone. And, if you’re sending an anonymous comment, please remember to include a name or alias so we can give proper credit.
All correct entries will be recognized in the next Music Jeopardy! post. The prize, as always: eternal bragging rights.
Below are this week’s five clues plus three bonuses! Answers to last puzzle’s MJ45 (“March Madness!”) are at the end, along with that week’s winners. This week’s contest closes at 11:59 pm on Monday, April 6, 2026.

That’s it. Remember to provide your responses in the “Your Thoughts” box way at the bottom of the article (we will moderate your answers and they won’t appear until the contest closes) or DM me on any of the social media platforms where this is posted.
Here are the results from Music Jeopardy 45! – Category: “March Madness!”:
Clue 1 (100 pts): What is “Madman Across The Water”?
Clue 2 (200): Who is Madness?
Clue 3 (300): Who is 50 Cent?
Clue 4 (400): Who is Madonna?
Clue 5 (500): Who is The Notorious B.I.G.?
Bonus 1 (1000): What is “the sound of your loneliness”?
Bonus 2 (1500): What is “Truly Madly Deeply”?
Bonus 3 (2000): What is Megan’s Law?
A couple of notes: For Bonus 1, the clue mentioned “if you listen carefully” and finished with “don’t let your heart fool you.” In the first verse of Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams,” Stevie draws an analogy to “heartbeat,” but it was “the sound of your loneliness” that, like a heartbeat, drives you mad. Only one player picked up on that distinction and my “heart” disclaimer, and guessed it correctly.
Also, for Bonus 3, the clue asked for the statute in question, not the artist, hence the correct response “Megan’s Law.”
Winners: Matt Charboneau (6000); Honorable Mentions: Tim McDonnell, David Custer, Barb Lopez, JHRoss, Bob Ridge, John Rhodes, and Matt Mullen
Again, good luck with Music Jeopardy 46! The answers and results will be revealed next week.
