To my readers:

On Saturday, May 28, djrobblog.com reached a new milestone: it topped 10,000 views in one month for the first time in its 17-month history.  The month of May has been the biggest yet for the site, with my ranking of Prince’s greatest songs generating 4500+ reads (nearly 5200 including April’s numbers – the most yet for any single article).  (Another Prince article -the Prince/MJ connection – was even translated by someone in French last week and posted on a website in Senegal!).

The previous monthly readership record was established only a month ago in April (8500+ clicks).

Also in May, djrobblog became more interactive with artists: I conducted my first artist interview (with an up-and-coming rap duo named Metanoiz), then a couple of weeks later received a personal message from pop/R&B greats Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis, Jr. thanking me for my review of their performance here in Illinois and inviting me backstage to one of their upcoming shows.

Singing greats Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis, Jr. showed their appreciation and their class with this post from their Facebook page last week.

Two of djrobblog’s older articles: my ranking of the 25 greatest falsetto singers and the 30 best male blue-eyed soul singers continue to generate the most steady readership for articles published before May, with each garnering about 900 reads per month since March.

All of this only goes to show how you can achieve your dreams no matter how far-fetched it might seem if you follow your calling in life and don’t give up, especially when you have the love and support of those around you as I have had the past year and a half.

Needless to say I’m humbled by all of this and thank you all for your continued support of djrobblog.  I’ve taken all of your comments, feedback and reactions to heart and have tried to improve the site with each article I’ve posted (92 so far and counting).

I’ve taken a mini-break for the past couple weeks and haven’t posted anything since May 17, but I plan to return in June with more articles, including ones covering married couples in music, depressing songs, songs about friendship and a 50th birthday special.

Until then, please have a happy Memorial Day, remember those we’ve lost, be kind to those we still have and stay safe this weekend!

Peace and Love,
DJRob
